Welcome to Biomag 2008.
It is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to the 16th International Conference on Biomagnetism held in Sapporo, Japan.
Biomag 2008 provides a leading international forum to bring together researchers working in diverse fields of Biomagnetism, which deals with the recording and analysis of magnetic fields associated with living systems. Disciplines of biomagnetism are utilized to investigate biological and physiological functions, to expand detection and imaging technologies, and to develop clinical applications. The conference is organized by the Japan Biomagnetism and Biomagnetics Society, which was founded in 1986 to host Biomag 87 in Tokyo.
The conference will take place in Sapporo, the capital city of Hokkaido, which is the northernmost island of Japan. Sapporo is particularly known for its pioneering history since 1869 with the help of many foreign experts, engineers and educators, who also contributed to the foundation of Hokkaido University. The principle beliefs of Hokkaido University were based on the pioneering spirit represented in a famous aphorism by Dr. W. S. Clark, "Boys, be ambitious".
We hope that this conference will offer an opportunity for all participants to present the latest results and exchange "ambitious ideas", from which future progress will be motivated.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sapporo in 2008.
Sincerely, |
